Sadot- Israfilm Productions - Mooly and Zlil Landesman

We spent our adolescent years on adjoining kibbutzim (Ayelet Hashachar and Hulata). We became friends during our studies, married and established our home in the Galilee, in Karkom, above the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee and are the proud parents of our five children.

Mooly Landesman graduated from the Camera Obscura School of Arts Tel Aviv in 1995. Zlil Landesman graduated from the Camera Obscura School of Arts Tel Aviv in 1993.
Mooly specializes in directing, editing and film script writing, while Zlil's specialties are cinematography, writing and production .

Our initial collaborative venture was on Mooly's final student film production, the drama "Just She Knows You" (Rak Shetidii Lach). Since then we have been active in the field of documentary film production. Among the films we have produced jointly are My Own Daughter, BetweenTwo Fathers, The Last Chance, The Volunteers, and The Secretary.

Over the years we have found ourselves dealing in people's emotions and questions of identity, home, and family. Through the personalities in our films we attempt to draw the human scenery and faces of Israel. We attempt to create personal and humane films based upon multiple levels with an ambition to achieve deeper understanding based upon repeated viewing. We worked for almost 3 years on our film "The Last Chance" (Hasikui Ha'acharon).

In each of our films we work with a composer who writes original music, and in the past have collaborated with Israel Bright and Eldad Gueta. We have coped with various ethical and moral questions, always placing the person and their life before the film. We try to reach the innermost kernel of truth, relating the story itself and the people behind the story.
We have found the documentary world to be a world of stories full of drama and imagination. Through our filming we continue to learn about ourselves as people and artists. Even if we are critical or say harsh things, we are aiming inwards, always out of a great love for Israel and its people.
